Welcome to your wiki 14a!
In groups of two, you should do a web-search on the subject "The American Dream", and bring the issue up to date. You may look for any kind of data such as news articles, pictures, testimonies, videos, etc. dating no further back than 2012 (one news article, which you analyze, is required). Remember to use words in English when you use search machines such as "Google". Search, for instance words such as: "success", "happiness", "ideal" with words as "statistic", "situation", "solution" and add the numbers 2013 or 2014.
- Your search should include information about "the American Dream" as it is seen today and your analysis should compare the data you find to the texts we have read on the subject (here are your notes). You may also compare the American dream to the idea of success and happiness in Denmark.
- All the data that you find should be gathered in a page in this wiki. Add a new page to THIS wiki by clicking on the page icon to the right, and give your page a name (names of group members and perhaps your topic/focus). Edit that page by clicking on a little "arrow down" that appears, when you mouse over the right hand corner, and write your article/essay here (keep a copy in your computer). You can paste links to articles that you find on the subject or to any other sources that help you get updated knowledge on the subject. Pictures can also be uploaded directly to the page, and YouTube videos can be embedded on the page by using the video "widget" (click on the "widget" icon in the "editing" mode). NOTE: do not open the same page in two computers!
- Try to "link" as many words as possible in your wiki to external pages. For instance, terms or concepts, people's names or names of organizations, etc., which can be linked to a definition in Wikipedia or to the organization's homepage.
- The final product should be a self-made internet article including links, pictures and videos to illustrate the American dream as it is today (see an example here). You will be doing an oral presentation based on your wiki article next time.
